Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Applicants must be:

A citizen of India, OR

A subject of Nepal/Bhutan, OR

A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 to settle permanently, OR

A person of Indian origin migrated from certain countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India (subject to eligibility certificate by Government of India).

Age Limit (as on 31.07.2025)

Minimum: 21 years

Maximum: 30 years

Relaxations:

SC/ST: +5 years

OBC (Non-creamy layer): +3 years

PwBD: +10 years

Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years (up to max. 45 years)

Other categories as per rules

Educational Qualification (as on 31.07.2025)

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university

Passed English as a subject at SSC/HSC/Intermediate/Graduation level

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the regional language of the State/UT applied for is mandatory

Vacancy Distribution

Vacancies are State/UT-specific, and selection will be based on that location’s requirements. For example, a candidate applying for Rajasthan will only be considered for Rajasthan vacancies.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of three stages:

1. Tier I – Preliminary Examination (Online)

Objective Type | 100 Marks | 60 Minutes

English Language – 30 Qs | 30 Marks

Reasoning – 35 Qs | 35 Marks

Numerical Ability – 35 Qs | 35 Marks

Sectional timing of 20 minutes per section

Qualifying in nature – candidates must clear sectional & overall cut-offs

2. Tier II – Main Examination (Online)

Objective Type | 250 Marks | 120 Minutes

English Language – 40 Qs | 50 Marks

Reasoning – 40 Qs | 50 Marks

Numerical Ability – 40 Qs | 50 Marks

Computer Knowledge – 40 Qs | 50 Marks

General Awareness – 40 Qs | 50 Marks

Sectional timing applies

Marks obtained here decide merit ranking (subject to Language Test clearance)

3. Regional Language Test

Conducted for shortlisted candidates after the Main Exam

Qualifying only – no marks awarded

Failure to clear will lead to disqualification

Pay & Benefits

Basic Pay (Pre-revised): ₹22,405/- with annual increments

Approx. Gross Salary (Metro): ~₹40,000/- per month
